Welcome Message
We will carry on our mission as a social finance institution that saves hope instead of money and nurtures the power of togetherness instead of interest.
Social Solidarity Bank has encouraged the will for self-reliance in the poor and contributed to social innovation by working alongside professionals from various fields—supporting the entire entrepreneurial journey from planning to consulting and market development.
Through over 50,000 cases of self-reliance—including support for female heads of households and small businesses facing hardship due to low income and credit, and financial aid for youth independence—we’ve experienced the power of togetherness and the virtuous cycle of sharing.
Just as you have silently stood as a reliable support on uncertain paths, we ask for your continued solidarity so that the Social Solidarity Bank can grow into a mature institution of social finance.
We will do our utmost to meet your expectations. We look forward to building and growing Korea’s social finance together.
Honorary Chairperson, Kim Sung-Soo, Social Solidarity Bank
We aim to build a social bank accessible to everyone, at any time.
The 20+ year journey of Social Solidarity Bank is practically the history of social finance in Korea. Our first challenge was the microcredit project—providing startup capital to low-income, low-credit, and vulnerable individuals excluded from institutional finance. This initiative began as the Korean version of the Grameen Bank. Countless individuals who had lost their precious everyday lives to poverty regained dignity and succeeded in entrepreneurship through microcredit.
Many social enterprises, cooperatives, and social ventures providing innovative social services have taken root in our society thanks to the integrated support of the Social Solidarity Bank. We are also engaged in generationally targeted initiatives: supporting high-interest debt repayment, establishing the Youth Support Center ‘AlphaRound’ to help youth build financial independence, and assisting seniors with second-life planning and social contribution activities.
Our efforts for neighbors in need were made possible by countless individuals, companies, and organizations from all walks of life who practiced sharing and solidarity. We sincerely thank you all. The Social Solidarity Bank will continue striving to make our society healthier. We ask for your ongoing warm interest and passionate support for the hope and new possibilities we continue to create.
Thank you.
